Boston, Massachusetts

One Church. Many congregations.

Paul wrote to the church at Corinth: one letter to one Church in one city that met in many households. Boston has hundreds of congregations, gathering in Dorchester, Roxbury, East Boston, Jamaica Plain, Mattapan, Charlestown, Hyde Park, and Brighton and beyond. We are building one place that shows who the Church in Boston is.

What is coming

Three things, kept plainly and kept current.

The Church at Worcester already does this for its city. Boston gets the same three things.

A directory

Every congregation in Boston that confesses Jesus Christ as Lord, with its tradition, language, neighborhood, and meeting times. It is a census, not a ranking.

A prayer map

A page for each neighborhood, listing who gathers there and what to ask God for. Boston is a set of real places, including Dorchester, Roxbury, and East Boston.

A calendar

When the churches of Boston pray together, anyone can find out where and when, including gatherings we did not organize.

While we build

133.church

Return to the Altar. Prepare the Bride. One Church, one Bride, one Lord. 133.church publishes teaching and writing that calls the Church back to the presence of God, to holiness, to prayer, and to one another.

What this is not

This is not a church you can attend. It has no service, no membership, no offering plate, and no pastor of "The Church at Boston." If you are looking for a place to worship on Sunday, the directory will help you find one.

Do you pray for Boston, or do you keep a list of its churches? We would like to hear from you.

Six cities, one road

A circuit, like the letters of Revelation

The seven churches of Revelation sat on one Roman road loop, about a day or two's travel apart. These six New England cities form the same kind of ring.
